My Rythembox spontaneously began playing songs at an increased speed.

Asked by S.P.A.O.

Okay. SO when I hit play, the music plays. However, the playback is at 2 or 3x, rather than at 1x. Why?

I have looked at troubleshooting in the prefereces, changing my file quality, adding and substracing crossfade, etc. I can't think of anything else.

Could be your encoders? please open a termina (Applications > Accesories >
Terminal) and then type:

   sudo aptitude install ubuntu-restricted-extras

Then close the rhythmbox open again and try it.
