killall pulseaudio

should do it, you can remove a package but if it is running it will comtinue to run.

Or you could just reboot. Probably easier.

I have tried but does't work, have uninstalled Skype and then your recomendation but it still appears in system monitor. When skype is reinstalled it defaults to pulseaudio. Just can't get rid of it.

Can you help with this problem?
