There is a yahoo messenger for Unix but its quite old and unmaintained... Dont use it. Pidgin is better and supports multiple protocols...

Open accounts, click ADD, select Yahoo as protocol.
Then enter username and password and start chatting...

As simple as it could be... :)

We don't have to install the Messenger.
In stead, use this web version.
Save it in Favorites, so we can use it on daily basis.

no webam is not supported. even i dont see any webcam supported chat in ubuntu.

Only way to get webcam chat in Ubuntu is probably Skype.
