Package is not up to date with its git repository (gir)

Asked by NicoBarbarian

Hi,

when I use the python binding provided with this package, the color property is a Gdk.Color and is not used by the actual OsmGpsMap.Track object.

When using the package from github, the generated gir file defines the color property as a Gdk.ARGB, and this property works fine. Is it possible to update the source used by this package with github ?

I'm not familiar with the packaging workflow, I guess packagers prefer official releases to github last clone but the gir package is currently broken. I guess that the reason why the gpxviewer package is not maintained anymore.

Hi,

I had a similar issue to this. What source are you referring to that needs updating to ARBG?

If you find the code that needs updating, make a pull request for the GitHub repo https://github.com/nzjrs/osm-gps-map

Once it's pulled in and released by the maintainer, I can package it for Debian which will then be used by Ubuntu.

Thanks,
Andrew

Hi,

I actually use the current master github repo code which works fine.
It's the packaged version available in ubuntu repository (and thus
debian I guess) which is not up to date.

Thanks,
Nicolas
