I'm not quite sure I understand your question but I think you could find a synonym in a dictionary, whatever then delete your original word and type in the word/synonym you have found???

  Thank you for your help.
But I can't find a french synonym dictionary (perhaps it doesn't exist) for openoffice. The keys control+F7 doesn't do anything.

If you can't get it worked out in Open Office as a last resort you could find a Fr Dictionary on line, leave it open & toggle back & forth. If you're working off line you would have to find a dictionary you could download. Are using dual monitors? That would make it easier.
Bit of a hassle but it ought to work.

Thank you. It's the solution that i'm using now. But it would be more practical to have the same convenience that we have with microsoft word.

There doesn't appear to be a french thesaurus for OpenOffice.org, if it did exist, the package would be openoffice.org-thesaurus-fr.

I found it on openoffice site, with the key "thesaurus". The name of the french's pack is exactly :
openoffice.org-thesaurus-fr
(i suppose it would be .sp in spanish).
