What kind of document was it?
What did it contain before you turned it into a table?
What did you do to turn it into a table?

Also what version of Ubuntu and OpenOffice.org are you using.

Hi Tony:
It was a word document. I selected all and then went to tables and asked it to turn the document into tables. It is a list of all the people I send Christmas cards to. Thanks for your help.

As far as I understand you, you opened a MS Word document (with a .doc extension) in OpenOffice.org (version 2.4?). You selected all the text in it. Took Table > Convert > Text to Table. This gives you a Convert Text to Table dialog. Did you change anything there? When you clicked OK, was there a table there? With nothing in it? Or did your document just disappear? Or did you save it somewhere, then could not find it again?
