Asked by michelle gurley

I am trying to print documents. Neither"properties" or "options" show the option to select color of print. I can't find a place to select to print a document in grey scale vs. color. (I want to print in color). PLease help me to find where this setting for color is located so I can select my option.

Thanks for your question.

Usually that can be done in the printer driver. when you ge to the print dialog there should be an option button, and somehwere there should be an option to print greyscale. Where exactly depends on the driver IIRC.

I hope this helps

I'm going into "properties" and then I choose "device" (one of the tabs at the top, the other one is "paper). anyway, one of the options under "device" is "printout mode", under which is "ink type". The "ink type" I am choosing is "300 dpi, Draft, Color, Black+ Color". What I want is to be able to print in color but it's still not happening on this setting. I want the draft mode, but perhaps this is not possible with color? Is this where I am going wrong?
I am trying to print out documents with some of the words highlighted in color. When this prints in grey, the colored sections appear as shaded. After I made the adjustment that I explained above (changing the printout mode) then even the shading was gone and it was simply a black and white print, no shading, nothing.

Maybe this could help you out:

Instead of configuring from inside of OpenOffice.org,

Goto System > Administration > Printing

Select your printer, right-click and select Properties

Select the 'Advanced' tab

Configure to your liking there.

It seems like I have the same problem. When I print a test page I see a nice colorful page. But as soon as I start using Open Office everything turns into gray. Perhaps I m overlooking something?

In OpenOffice.org you will find the printer settings in the menu 'File'.

- In OpenOffice.org's menu go to 'File' - 'Printer settings'
- Click 'Properties' and go to the second tab 'Device'
- In the second last row 'Colour' choose 'Colour' from
  the pull down selection list.

Thats it.

thomas

I have a Minolta 2300 DL on my LAN. It will not print in color and I have checked the Administrators print options in Ubuntu and in Open Office. Color is selected in both areas but still prints B&W. It also prints B&W in Firefox and Evolution. I suspect the driver itself has a problem. Can this be checked?
Bob

Can you help with this problem?
