insert jpegs into word processor document

Asked by Carol Hamilton

I have formatted all pages of my children's books into 8x8 and have left pages to insert the graphic drawings which I have saved into jpegs. I have tried to open them in the gimp and then try to get them into the word document by cutting, pasting into the clipboard and then inserting them into the word document. I know I have probably neglected some very important thing but I don't know what it is since I am fairly new to my Ubuntu system. Please help so I can continue with my finalizing my books to go to the printer. HELP!

Are you using Open Office Writer for the document? If so, just click on the insert menu and choose picture -> from file and navigate to the location of the file. Once inserted you can resize if needed. I would think that copy and paste would work too but if not use the insert option.

Thanks for the info. Worked great the way you said to insert pix. Did two of
my four books in record time. Big help. I have been trying to figure this out
for a while. Two more to go then off to writing the next one. I'm excited

You all have been so helpful that I now have all the pix entered in all four children's books and saved. Thanks so much for everything. Sorry I communicated through e-mail. I now am more familiar with launchpad on how to let you know you solved my problem.
