Saving documents in open office

Do you get an error message when you attempt to save the file? If so, what is the full and exact text of the error message?

You said you've tried multiple folders. Please give an example of a folder where you have attempted to save the document. That will enable me to craft a command you can run, to verify that you are able to create files in the folder.

Are you able to create a *new* document in OpenOffice.org and save that?

Tried to save @ fred, desktop, file system, & a thumb drive
I lost the "document" folder on an up grade, way back.
This is a new document I am trying to save & have saved

documents before with no problem. It is not in the places area

where home folder, desktop, music & etc.

Problem was with this doc only. Copied & paste to my email.
Then copied & paste in open office. Problem solved.
