Open office 3.2 does not play sound pp slide show

Asked by Rick Nelson

I have Open Office installed in Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick & when I try to play a slide show in Open Office 3.2 presentation it plays the pictures ok & but the music fails to play. It did play the same file OK in Ubuntu 10.04 so I am wondering if there is a setting I am missing?

When I click on a pp file it opens to OO Presentation & starts to play & there is in the lower right corner a moving symbol of music notes but no audio is heard from the speakers. It plays OK in another distro of Peppermint that I have installed.

Thanks,

This may be a bug that someone else has reported as well. See

So there is no solution you know of at this time?

If you save the file in OOo format (i.e opd) the sound may work. If not, then there is no solution at present.

I have asked for a sample ppt file with sound to be attached to the bug. If you can do that it would help progress the bug.

Can you help with this problem?
