Sorry, I do not understand what you mean by 'group box'. Please describe what this looks like. Does this happen on all spreadsheets or just one? It may help me if you describe what is on the speadsheet.

Thanks for your kind attention. I have spreadsheet file with lot of data.
whenever i open it to work, in between the work, a box with title group pops
up (it will popup if on tool bar under data you click on group) without me
doing anything (means i do not click on group - in tool bar under data). to
remove it if i press cancel in this box it does not go away - i have to
press ESC on laptop to remove it, however it again appears within few
seconds.

From what you say, it seems like the F12 key is being activated. This is the Group function key. If I hold down F12 on my computer, the Group box is activated and if I press the Cancel button, it just comes back again. But if I press ESC, the box is closed until I release the F12 key and press it again. This is exactly the behaviour you are describing.

So, is your F12 key stuck down?

If you want to remove the F12 action, go to Tools > Customize > Keyboard tab. Highlight F12 and Delete. The click OK.

Hope that helps.

Tony

Thank you. I have done as you have suggested. Only after deleting F12 i have
saved. There was no button to press OK in the end. I hope it will help. let
me use it for few days, i will give you the feed back. Thank you very much
once again.

The OK button is on the bottom of the whole Customize dialogue box.

'Save' saves the function key assignments so they can be reloaded at a later date.

To exit the Customize dialogue box you would have had to press either OK or Cancel, or the (x) button on the dialogue title bar. Only the OK button will save your changes.

Dear Tony
Thank you very much. The problem is solved and in the process i learnt
something new. For Ok button, I had to reduce the size of window to
accommodate on my screen, which i could do and could see OK button. Thank
you very much once again.
