cannot remove opeenoffice.org

Asked by Patrick OKeefe

I have tried every which way to remove Open Office.org 3.1 from my computer and
I have not had any luck. Every place I ask how to remove it they give me words after
words that are so tecnicial that I do not know how to use them. Is there a simple
shot way in english that I can understand. I am 82 years old and as yoy the mind does
not grasp every thing that comes to me. Please help me as I need to remove the program
so that I can install a new one. Thank you for your help. Pat.

The problem is not solved. What gives with you people. Is it that you are not interested in my
question or is it that you do not have a ability to answer. Which is it. If this is the way you
treat people that are asking for help I do feel sorry for you and your so called brain wonders.
MMaybe they should go back to 101 customer couristy and maners. Pat.

Dear Mr O'Keefe

I am somewhat confused. You asked this question twice. Once here and also at

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+question/131034

In that question you said you were using OpenOffice.org in Microsoft Windows XP. If that is so, then this is the wrong place to ask this question as this is a help list for people using OpenOffice.org with the Ubuntu Linux operating system and. as such, the answers you get here will not make any sense to you.

Of course, it is possible that you are using Ubuntu Linux operating system with both the Microsoft Windows XP operating system and the Ubuntu Linux operating system. If this is so, please make this clear to us.

To remove OpenOffice.org from the Microsoft Windows XP operating system you need to go to Start, then select Control Panel, and in the Control Panel, run Add/Remove Programs. Scroll down the list of programs to OpenOffice.org 3.1 and click on Remove. If you cannot follow this, please find someone who uses the Microsoft Windows XP operating system operating system to show you how to do it.

I hope this helps you.

Regards

Tony Pursell

I dont care how old you are, people with manner issues get the same treatment no matter how old they are. There is NO excuse at all for people being downright rude.

This is an Ubuntu support forum, so as Tony says, you can use control panel, then use add/remove programs and the option will be there. You can remove it there easily.

Why post on an Ubuntu forum if your OS is Windows XP?

patrik does not have ubuntu installed on his system just spent around 2 hrs on the phone with him . the ubuntu install guide would not allow us to install it some type of block system installed . but we are going to change that as soon as he gets the ubuntu 10.10 cd i am mailing him . HOW he ended up at launchpad is totally un- know . , he did and i will help him .
