What is the protocol to request an update on this package from the maintainer?

Asked by Chip Sharp

What is the process/protocol to request an updated package be released into the channel for this package. Version 21.0 is the active release in the Ubuntu Universe, but 21.1 has been available since mid-2021. It contains several bug fixes which are needed, especially one that fixes a full application crash. How do I request an updated package be released?

Manfred Hampl suggests this article as an answer to your question:
FAQ #3037: “no rolling release”.

In addition you have to be aware that Ubuntu copies packages from Debian (to avoid double packaging work), and as far as I can see, Debian has created a package for nzbget 21.2 only for its "experimental" release yet, see https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/nzbget
Only when Debian copies this version to unstable or testing, Ubuntu will consider copying that package version into the Ubuntu repositories.

There are PPAs, see https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+ppas?name_filter=nzbget for a list of potential candidates (standard disclaimer for PPAs applies of course).

Thank you. I will nudge this from the Debian side.
