unable to compile Newspost 2.1.1 in natty narwhal

Asked by Larry Barron

unable to compile Newspost 2.1.1 in natty narwhal I have all the latest updates that I know of... I am running the classic desktop (not that god awful Unity) and I am using the standard terminal not konsole... I used the following command, and got the following output (The Name/s has been changed to protect the innocent)...

larry@TUX:~$ cd /home/larry/Downloads/NNTP_Posters/newspost-2.1.1
larry@TUX:~/Downloads/NNTP_Posters/newspost-2.1.1$ make
make main CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall" LIBS=""
make[1]: Entering directory `/home/larry/Downloads/NNTP_Posters/newspost-2.1.1'
cd base ; make CC="gcc" CFLAGS="-O2 -Wall"
make[2]: Entering directory `/home/larry/Downloads/NNTP_Posters/newspost-2.1.1/base'
gcc -O2 -Wall -o test test.c

                 from test.c:20:
utils.h:29:8: error: conflicting types for ‘getline’

make[2]: *** [test] Error 1

make[1]: *** [main] Error 2

make: *** [opt] Error 2
larry@TUX:~/Downloads/NNTP_Posters/newspost-2.1.1$

Can anyone tell me how to fix this and get it to compile correctly?
Or better yet, tell me where to get a multi-stream binary uploader?

I am also going to try and compile "gnewspost-0.6" (a front end for Newspost).
Please remember I am a virgin at compiling, this is my first attempt at compiling anything in Linux... I'm a NOOB! And I HATE to use the command line if I can avoid it...
Thanks
Larry

OK thats great... I can post TEXT messages AS ME! to the news groups... but I need a program to post BINARIES! anonymously! to the newsgroups (thus Newspost and Gnewspost or ypost). I would use newsmangler but its in German and I only understand English... Do you know how I can post LOTS of Binaries to the newsgroups ANONYMOUSLY to the servers? And Please tell me theres a GUI than I can just point and click and it will make NZB & PAR2 files and it will yenc encode the files! the method I use now to post uses a windows program that will only let me upload to 8 groups at a time, and is as slow as cold molasses going uphill in January in Alaska. I need a better method/program.

Any help you can offer will be appreciated
Sincerely
Larry Barron
