Well, but what would you like to use? Where exactly is your problem?

I think what people are trying to ask you, Heathyre, is what exactly seems to be the problem when you mean 'log onto the internet'.
One of the things I try to do with diagnosing problems is to do a 'ping' test. See if you can call up a terminal window and do 'ping'. Although with Marcobra's question, knowing if you are wired first or using wireless, the next question would be given wireless, are you getting an IP for your wireless connection?
What little I recall from the desktop, you should be able to see what kind of connection you have for network, and from there, should get information of the kind of connection you have. If you are trying to do this with a wireless, you have to make sure one of the 'eth' shows up that it supports wireless and actually sees a wireless connection for it to establish a connection to the network in question.

Brilliant, nicely done and congrats :)
Any chance of giving a few hints how you solved it. An extremely brief note would be really helpful to people hunting through "Solved" questions to help them fix there's would be great.
Then marking this thread as "Solved" would finish the job nicely.
Anyhow, thanks for getting back to us
Regards from
Tom :)

We just hooked my computer up to an ethernet cable and went through and installed ndiswrapper. The problem was I had the Broadcom 4318 wireless card. I'll post more when my computer is returned, My friend ran off with it to play with the graphics.

Thanks for contributing to the Ubuntu community. I think there's a section on ndiswrappers that anyone looking through "Solved" questions could use to help them fix their problem if they have something similar. Sometimes it's good just to have pointers in the right direction.
Just marking this one as solved from the link underneath where you type stuff will add this to that database.
Thanks again, good luck and regards from
Tom :)

Heathryre ?
Hi? Are you using Windows again? It seems you are accidentally sending spam to people. It doesn't really matter here but other people might get annoyed.
Good luck and regards from Tom :)
