Problems with Nemo in Ubuntu 14.04

Asked by Michael Gabby

I like Nemo as a File Manager. I have discovered two difficulties with Nemo in 14.04:

First, when I go to Help --> About Nemo crashes

Second, in 13.10 when I right click Nemo on the Desktop, I am given a choice of running Nemo as root; in 14.04, this is not a choice.

I can solve the first by never asking About Nemo -- I can solve the second by going to Terminal and running sudo nemo. But it would be nice if these two difficulties could be resolved.

How did you install nemo?

What is the output of:

apt-cache policy `dpkg -l | grep nemo | awk {'print $2'}`; lsb_release -a

Thanks

I first tried using the Ubuntu Software Center. It didn't work. So I
then used the apt-get install command.

$ apt-cache policy `dpkg -l | grep nemo | awk {'print $2'}`; lsb_release
