I cannot download my updates!

Whenever I try to install my updates ( I have 362 waiting for me!) It says the following:
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg--configure-a' to correct the problem.
E:_ cache-> open() failed, please report.

What do I do???? Thanks

Do what apt suggests. Run the following command in a terminal:

sudo dpkg --configure -a

This will configure all unpacked but unconfigured packages.

Applications>accessories>terminal and type or copy/paste

sudo dpkg --configure -a
