In Ubuntu 8.04 the filebrowser cannot create files in a directory

Asked by eu

Binary package hint: nautilus

file permissions allow to create folders.

Nautilus 2.22.5.1
where rw permission is given. In the "home" directory creating folders is possible.

I've my documents in a separate partition and with this version of the browser, no new folder can be created. Before it worked. There must have been an upgrade and now it's not longer possible.

In the permission of the browser is "create and delete files" checked, file access "read and write" disappears after setting.
Under "File" 'create folder' and 'create document' is dimmed.

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug.

Could you please provide the following info:

1. Output of "mount -l"
2. Output of "ls -l /path/to/folder" where "/path/to/folder" is the folder that you are trying to write too.
3. Output of "groups"
