mountall compatibility with older kernels

Asked by Andreas Göb

The mountall program used in Ubuntu Karmic uses /proc/self/mountinfo to ensure partitions are mounted properly. When trying to boot Karmic in coLinux 0.80, which uses kernel 2.6.25 and therefore not provides this file, mountall reports the following error and starts a maintenance shell:

mountall:/proc/self/mountinfo: No such file or directory
mountall start/spawned, process 787
mountall: root filesystem isn't mounted
init: mountall main process (787) terminated with status 1
General error mounting filesystems.
A maintenance shell will now be started.
CONTROL-D will terminate this shell and re-try.

Is there a way to make mountall work with kernel 2.6.25?
