could this be backported to xenial?

Asked by dhdurgee@verizon.net

I attempted to install this package from its PPA, but was blocked by unfulfilled requirements. I have asked that the missing package be backported to xenial, so it would be logical to ask that this package also be backported. As xenial is LTS, it would make sense to backport this package. I am one among many no planning to migrate from xenial any time soon.

I should note that since posting my question I have successfully
installed the package from the author's website along with the
python-pychromecast it depends upon from the zesty repository.  It
works, although I am in contact with the author regarding some issues.

Mint isn't supported here or in any of the Ubuntu support channels.
Mint's support is separate from Ubuntu's

I suggest you post on the Mint forum here:
https://forums.linuxmint.com

None of the "Ubuntu based" distributions are supported by the Ubuntu community.

I am aware that mint is not supported here.  I am also aware that as a
LTS release xenial still has many users and all of them are in the same
situation I am.  Thus my suggestion for the backport, which will help
all users of xenial and other distros.
