You are using a 3rd party source for minitube and not the official one from the Ubuntu repos. I suggest you uninstall minitube and disable the PPA (or remove it). You can then install the 1.6 version from the official repos and it should work.

where to disable to PPA

thanks

Didn't you learn this version is bad after this fiasco??

can you give the output of:

grep -R web /etc/apt/*

Thanks

Also run:

sudo apt-get --purge remove minitube
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove

To get the bad minitube out

changing the PPA settings have caused new problems like WiFi is disabled
and i have reinstalled UBUNTU 12.04
after the following question:

https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-nettool/+question/208676

thanks.

sudo rm /etc/apt/sources.list.d/nilarimogard-webupd8-precise.list*
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get install minitube

Is it now ok?

If you make a new Ubuntu user and log in as that and run minitube, is it ok?

katamaswami (katamaswami) said : #14

same problem

thanks

Sounds like a bug. I suggest you run:

ubuntu-bug minitube

and report the issue, add to the bug that the later version does the same and that a fresh user makes no difference

Bug already exist : https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/minitube/+bug/981777

I suggest to close this question as solved and add your comments there. Of course click the "Yes it affects me" .

Thanks
