Libreoffice 3.3: Document recovery loop

Asked by Robert Carreras

I've gone through several websites, threads, and types of problems related to the one mentioned. The problem persists and I do not know what course to take. Do I upgrade by going with 3.4.2? And, if I do, do I need to remove the prior 3.3 uploads from synaptic? Do I need to enter correcting information as code (terminal)? One possible solution read like using "Cancel" to stop the recovery loop - how is that done?

Stumped,

Robert C.

this bug was corrected in vers 3.3.2

you can install 3.4.3 if you like, but you'll have to download it from libreoffice.org and install it yourself. it's not that difficult.

instructions on how to install it is given in the file that you download.

Thank you "marcus aurelius" for your reply.

The version of Libreoffice I am running is 3.3; is 3.4.2 an more updated, stable one? If I decide to go with the 3.4, do I need to un-install the 3.3?

I have another issue that I will begin on another thread.

Thank you again...

Robert

Hello "Marcus,"

I am ready to install the lbreoffice 3.4.2. From the last time I tried to install it, there appears this on the file in the Archive Manager "LibO_3.4.2_Linux_x86_install-rpm_en-US.tar.gz" and a helppack variant. Can I use this to install? If yes, how?
Or, should I begin all over. If yes, would you suggest a site to go install?
Thank you,

Robert
