I'm guessing you mean an MP3 player. Can you please clarify this.

Can you also please provide the output of:

sudo fdisk -l; mount

Thanks

Try:

sudo mkdir /media/sony; sudo mount /dev/sdc1 /media/sony -o uid=1000

Should mount it in /media/sony

Well, thanks. The mp3 player is mounted in my rhythmbox player. I can view a
playlist and play songs from the sony mp3 thru rhythmbox. question, how do I
change my music files that are in oog to mp3 so I can import from my music
file to the mp3?

I do not suggest you do that. Converting one lossy format to another will degrade quality. I suggest you rerip your CDs to MP3.

Please mark the question as closed as it relates to linking the player to your system, which has been achieved.

Thanks
