Hi,

This is a common problem for Palm Treo 680 users in Ubuntu 8.10.

Please see https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-pilot/+bug/282491
for an explanation of the problem.

You will need to upgrade to gnome-pilot 2.0.15-2ubuntu4 (or higher) using the intrepid-proposed repositories to fix the issue.

Enter following command to edit the sources.list file:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Add

deb http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ intrepid-proposed restricted main multiverse universe

to the end of the file /etc/apt/sources.list file.

Then run the following commands:

sudo aptitude update
sudo aptitude -t intrepid-proposed install gnome-pilot

Regards,

Mark
