JClic not closing down at all. Need to kill Java to shut it.

Asked by Clive Rodeo

Hi, is anyone else having problems shutting JClic down? The 'X' button doesn't work, and neither does the Menu shut-down. As I mentioned, the only way to shut it is to kill Java in processes.

Hmmm... the modules I created work OK in my production machine (still running Jaunty), and JClic closes down as expected. It seems to be a Karmic problem (to me anyway).

I've had the same problem, I solved it by installing the sun Java VM instead of the open version.
Is this working for you?

Hi Luisa, thanks for the reply. At your suggestion, I installed the Sun version,
but there's no change unfortunately. I haven't considered a complete
purge/re-install yet, but I'm getting close.

I hope you have a great day,

Darrell

I'm sorry I think my answer was not complete.

Use this command (in a terminal):
sudo update-alternatives --config java
and choose the Sun version as default, it solves?

Can you help with this problem?
