HP Deskjet 1600 Series Printer Driver

I just purchased an HP Deskjet D1660. The HP Deskjet 1600 series printer driver was installed automatically. However, I am not able to print anything. Test page does not print nor spreadsheets or word documents.

I connected the D1660 to a Windows computer and loaded the Windows HP driver to determine if it may be the HP USB printer cable. Everything printed on the Windows computer.

Solutions on the HP 1600 series printer driver???

Install using the Applications→Ubuntu software the hplip package then please retry
