How to install Canoscan driver

Thanks for your question. Which version of Ubuntu do you run? Which *exact* scanner model do you use?

In general, there is no need to install any driver to ubuntu, since all supported drivers are packed into the installation cd.

Unfortunatly, there's a bug in Ubuntu Feisty, which stops quite a lot of scanners (especially Canonscan compatible scanners) from running. See Bug #85488 for details.

So if you're running Feisty and if you own one of the affected scanners, I'm afraid you have to wait for a fix.

Thanks very much for your answer, Do you have any guess as to when the bug
will be fixed and will it be announced? I run Ububtu ( 7.04 Fiesty)
