dpkg (what is the command to run manually this fonction°

Asked by Jean Claude Twite

I was downloading Ubuntu version 7.04, after finishing the process, I discovered that my laptop freeze. I decided to switch it off then I put it on again. However, I was trying to run the update manager to restart the upgrade unfortunately the system tell is unable to run the update manager automatically because of some errors. I realize that it's because of the faillure to finalize the installation of the version 7.04. The System suggest to run dpkg manually. I just started using Ubuntu 2 weeks ago, can anyone help me with the commande to run this fonction manually?
I thank you for your assistance

The following _should_ help.

Open a terminal and start the command:
 dpkg-reconfigure -a

This might need quite a while and you will be / may be asked some questions
(the questions which commonly pop up during the installation of new packages.
And may be / will be because this depends on the installation you did before)

regards, and god luck
