There was a problem with the command for this terminal: Text was empty (or contained only whitespace) How can i fix this problem?

I open the terminal there was message display "There was a problem with the command for this terminal: Text was empty (or contained only whitespace)"
I cant write anything on terminal?
how can i fix this problem?

I AM USING 11.04 VERSION

what is the solution for this
i already done the procedure of updating software centre and kernel .
