Hans,
As far as I can tell it is obvious these programs won't work in Linux.
Therefore I will continue using ms windows operating system. Thanks,
Lowell

Have you attempted to install wine (sudo apt-get install wine) and run the executable file (wine program.exe)??

If that does not work, your other option would be to install Virtualbox and run a virtual machine with Windows XP.

Juan, I installed Wine but it did not work. In fact every time I tried to
use it my pc would freeze and I would have to manually shut down and
restart. I've given up on Linux for now and will probably just purchase
another windows xp operating system for that machine.
Thanks, Lowell
