cant install a printer

I recently installed the new operating system and cannot load any printer disk into my machine, I need help installing the disk. The disk goes in and the icon comes up but I don't know the next steps to install the disk. The printer is a canon image class 320

Hello. I assume that you are trying to install the drivers for your driver from the disk you put into your drive. Please correct me if this is wrong.
In most cases this won't help because most producers don't ship Linux-drivers on their driver CDs.
With Ubuntu Linux printing is done by the cups-subsystem. You can add your printer by navigating to System > Administration > Printers. There you can add a new printer. The assistant will search for non-installed printers. If you're lucky it will find your printer. If not or if it's a network printer, you can specify the way to access the printer. Then you can choose the model of the printer and specify some other options in the next step. If everything went right after that you can use your printer!

I have a problem getting the lynksys router to install??? What do I do to INSTALL the LINKSYS . I have the disk!!! Thank you very much.

Please open a new question for your router-question. This question is about the printer problem. Otherwise people can not help you because they think this issue is about printing and not about routers.
