i can not access my other computor ( XP) on my network

I can not see my ubuntu partition on my win xp computer or see my Win xp in ubuntu . the computers are connected thru a netgear router on a wired network. When i am in windows i can see the other win computer. By the way i am dual booting on the ubuntu computer.

You need to have a file sharing medium installed. Like say for example Samba,

the dual boot is moot. Lets get some useful info:

Do you use DHCP or static IP (have you manually configured addresses)?
Can the XP system ping the Ubuntu system via name and/or IP address?
Can the Ubuntu system ping the XP system via name and/or IP?
Do both systems get internet access ok via the router?
