0: phy0: Wireless LAN
 Soft blocked: yes

This may indicate that the WLAN device is manually disabled by a (logical) switch.
Is there a function key to enable/disable WLAN? On some laptops you can do that by pressing Fn+F5, Fn+F7 or something similar.

This is a  Beelink 'NUC' - not HW switch at all,

Fn+F5 results in nothing.

Fn+F7 get me a sfwr settng to set caret type cursor...

Any additional ideas would be welcome, and thank you very much for your kind help!

Thanks!  Here s the result:

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo ip link set wlp3s0 up
RTNETLINK answers: Operation not possible due to RF-kill

so I ran again:

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
 Soft blocked: no
 Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
 Soft blocked: yes
 Hard blocked: no

...and...

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo rfkill unblock 0
(which returned nothing, of course...)

...and...

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo rfkill unblock 0
rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
 Soft blocked: no
 Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
 Soft blocked: yes
 Hard blocked: no
rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$

... changed...
sudo rfkill unblock 0 to sudo rfkill unblock 1

...and got...

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo rfkill list
0: hci0: Bluetooth
 Soft blocked: no
 Hard blocked: no
1: phy0: Wireless LAN
 Soft blocked: no
 Hard blocked: no

...so ran again...

rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$ sudo ip link set wlp3s0 up
rr@BigNuc:~/Desktop$

... no response?
