Lost WiFi connection

Updating the computer using the terminal and when update finished ubuntu 14.04 the wifi refused to operate.
Something in the update caused this problem
Be aware that I have no internet now on that machine

What wifi chip are you using?
Have you rebooted your router?

Cant find the card wifi chip rebooted the router which is working with everything else suspect the update has a bug of some kind.

Machine is a lenovo B590

If you run:

sudo lshw -C network; sudo iwlist scan | egrep -i 'chan|ssid'

What is the output please? You may want to use a wired connection to upload the text
