connect to internet

hi i am very much interest using ubuntu now i am using 11.04 recently i connect to another system (os ubuntu 12.04LTS) now my problem is i want to connect to internet i tried lot using the internet at last used the command i.e sudo pppoeconf
follow the instructions after this i even not connect to internet and not to connect to another system so please guide me how to connect to internet and another system also

Can you ping 8.8.8.8 from the problematic system?
Can yuo ping the other system?

Can you give the output of:

sudo lshw -C network; lsb_release -a; uname -a; sudo rfkill list

Also, do you dual boot?

Do you have a switch to enable / disable ifi? If so...press it then try wifi stuff

yes sir i have a switch for wifi but i want to connect to internet using a
wired a connection and also tried that

Thank you sir it is solved actually i made a mistake i.e i didn,t update my
mac address at my network vendor so that's why i got the problem but later
i recognized that and solve it once again sorry for my mistake
