DISABLED Wireless Network controller [0280]: RaLink RT3090 Wireless 802.11n 1T/1R PCIe [1814:3090] not working on Asus EEE PC 1001HA in Ubuntu 10.04.1 LTS

Asked by MacSeal

I can't get the WLAN (NETGEAR DG834G) running with eeePC running 10.04 LTS.
The WLAN works without a problem with my MacBook Pro running MacOS X 10.6.4.

I found this big command sequence an I run it on the Linux-box:

sudo aptitude update; sudo aptitude install hwinfo grep; sudo lshw -C network; rfkill list; sudo iwlist scanning; cat /etc/network/interfaces; cat /etc/lsb-release; lspci -nn; lsusb; sudo lshw -short; uname -a; dmesg | egrep 'ound|irmware|eth|ath|wl|ipw|b43|witch|ndiswrapper'; iwconfig; grep b43 /etc/modprobe.d/*; grep wl /etc/modprobe.d/*; sudo hwinfo --netcard ; sudo /etc/init.d/networking restart

The result from this are following:
