When it dosconnects run:

dmesg | tail

What is output.

The fact it works in fedora is interesting s both are the same OS, Linux. Hopefully the dmesg output will be helpful

Hi, It disconnected again and then I did:

dmesg | tail

An another strange thing is that today(the second day i'm running ubuntu)  I don't see the wifi icon on the top panel, instead I see 2 volume icons. Only one of these seems to work, the other does nothing!
Thanks
David

Sounds like a bug to me. Can you reboot and give the output of

dmesg > ~/dmesg.txt; gedit ~/dmesg.txt; rm ~/dmesg.txt

Thanks
