GDM Ubuntu 9.10

Asked by Leon

Hello, my name is Pablo Rodrigues Leon, I'm Brazilian student of Computer Science at UPF - Universidade de Passo Fundo. I use Ubuntu since version 8.04, a'm User not so old or with as much knowledge, but I like Ubuntu, and the main reason for my migration to ubuntu was the ability to customize the operating system. The idea of changing the system in accordance with the preference of each User was something that motivated me to disclose the Ubuntu both at work and in college and my friends and family.
When he left the release of the 9:10 I was so surprised and motivated in the first day I downloaded and installed the new version. The surprises were many, the issue of working with USB devices, the clouds and booting faster than I've ever seen ... many were good changes.

But one disappointed me, the exchange of gdm, the old gdm gave options for customization of the login that was very attractive. I searched in several forums and websites to answer back to the old gdm, but unsuccessfully. I installed gdm-2.20 but did not work.
I wonder if there is something that can be done if the team or developer intends to change about it.

Thank you for your attention.

Karmic doesn't have customisation of the login screen yet.

Considering it takes about 5 seconds to log on I'm suprised its such a big deal
