There should be no need to "clean up" anything on a regular ubuntu installation. It's not windows :-)

Did you recently install any firefox extensions (Add-ons), brady? If so, you might want to remove them and see if internet speeds up again.

I usually eat alot of bran. That keeps me pretty regular. But if it's a particularly tough case, and then prunes are really good.

sorry i didnt mean to enter w/o leaving the serious note. Run the command "top" in terminal,and it will give you a listing of all active running apps. If anything is running over 10% in any of your catagories chances are thats your problem.
