I dont get Firefox I keep getting Ubuntu/google, why

Why when I click the firefox icon do I get the page with google search, what happened to the firefox start page

And how do I get to this answer tracker? I cant find such anything like

Use menu option Edit->Preferences. Use the General tab. Enter the URL to your home page in the Home Page text field.

If it used to read about:startpage then a page with a Google search panel in it is the default start page for your version of the browser.

If the above advice doesn't give you the version of the Firefox Start page that you want, then perhaps you would consider setting http://www.google.com/firefox/ as your home page as a preferable solution to your problem.
