Asked by Nestor L. Sharp

Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make Ubuntu better. Examining the information you have given us, this does not appear to be a bug report so we are closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#When%20not%20to%20file%20a%20bug. There is also a vibrant support community available at http://askubuntu.com and you might consider asking your question there.

Used translation online:

This English have bad ... I understand that I must explain the error. If so, only I've noticed that Firefox was updated today to version 6.0 and this I can not access the secure page (https). Perhaps the problem lies with Firefox, well it may be that in this case the Bank has inconveniences ...

If you close firefox and then run:
mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla_old
Then retry the browser, is it ok? Do you use Thunderbird as your email client

Translated (probably badly):

Si cierra firefox y luego ejecutar:
mv ~ /. mozilla ~ /. mozilla_old

      Los navegadores soportados son:

    * Internet Explorer 6 con Service Pack 2 o superior (Sin Soporte)
    * Internet Explorer 7
    * Internet Explorer 8
    * Mozilla Firefox 3 al 5
    * Google Chrome
    * Safari 4 o superior
    * Opera 6 o superior

        Le recomendamos actualizar su navegador
        a uno de los mencionados.

Gracias por responder, saludos cordiales.

Nestor

It says right there on the error page that the banking website only supports up to Firefox 5.0. Ring the bank and tell them their website is out of date. It should not be filtering based on browser version numbers anyway.

The reason is that some very early browsers either did not support https, or they had security issues. This problem does not exist any more, and they are causing problems by refusing a connection with Firefox 6.0

In the meantime, you could downgrade to Firefox 5.0 and the banking site will work fine.

Chris
