Gmail as Client

Asked by richardkentgates

when i try to force manually to use gmail from firefox as client instead of eveolution, it states it is already set.
so i removed evolution and set in prefered to custom. nothing. if i enter the prizm gmail command it only opens gmail but not in client form. so the command in ubuntu is blank, evolution is gone, ff says gmail is set to pickup mailto: , yet still nothing. whats the deal. i had this working on another machine. and yes, i cleared cache and rebooted. still nada.

I read my email via a login to my provider's website. I cannot figure out a way to make a mailto link take me to my online email account so that I can send a message. Actually, I don't think this is even possible because It would require me log into the account and still remember the To: that triggered the action.

Does anyone know how to do this? I think more people read email the way I do instead of using a computer-based mail tool such as Evolution.

There are lots of Linux users who don't care how the kernel works, but
only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.

GNOME Gmail will integrate the Gmail web interface into all of the GNOME desktop, not just Firefox. It supports other browsers, and the "Send File..." command in Nautilus and LibreOffice.
