Text doesn't fit screen.

Asked by Darrell Hare

When I'm using FireFox, I like to enlarge the print to make it easier to read. I really like this feature but when I enlarge the print by Ctrl + the print spills over the sides and now I have a slider at the bottom and have to slide back and forth to read the print. This is annoying and inconvenient. Is there a way to handle this? The reason I ask is that on a few sites it doesn't happen. I enlarge the print and the screen adapts itself to the size of the print. Does anyone know if there is a way to handle this?

Hi marcobra,
If I enlarge the text using Ctrl+ when I'm on the websites below they will get to wide for the screen and a slider appears at the bottom of the screen and I have to scroll back and forth to read it. Please understand,I enlarge the text quite a bit because I am blind in one eye and I find my other eye can get quite strained if I use text that is too small.

The website below ,however, adjusts to the screen when I use Ctrl+. I just wanted to know if there is a way to change a setting so that all the screens adjust to text enlargement the way the one below does.

Is not your browser or settings they are different html pages with different html tags and instructions to draw the layer of the page.
One page (the weather) seems to have fixed dimension tables in it, so the enlarged text can not flow inside of them.

So i think you have to play with CTRL+ and CTRL- and with the bottom browser.

Hope this helps

Ok, I was perfectly happy with resolution until I installed a wine program application that operates from a windows format. Unfortunately, not only did it come over with screwed up font application it altered my entire resolution and now I have to scroll back and fourth to read things, cant save anything I open for application changes because I cant get to the "save button" any answers?

obergirl,
Do you use Ctrl+ and Ctrl- to change the text size? or is that not the issue?
