i can't create/write messages on hotmail

Hi...

I'm using ubuntu 8.04 with firefox 3.

since hotmail changed/updated their look, i can't write emails.

there are no problems with other sites, only hotmail.

It lets you edit the TO: and SUBJECT: boxes but the message box (where you write your message) appears inactive.

I've tried "UserAgent" but that's a bit long...

Any ideas??

I think the solution is to use User Agent Switcher or get rid of Hotmail services and switch to Gmail, this issue i due to Hotmail not friendly browser access policy:

I have had the same thing happen ever since the 'new look' appeared. I suppose the only choices are dumping hotmail or trying to get MS support to look into it.

@scarboni888 if this solution is working for the other i think you are doing something wrong...
After installing the User Agent Switcher Firefox extension
1) - restart Firefox
2) - Using Firefox menu Tools → User Agent Switcher → Choose different browser User Agent and try

then go to about:config at the URLs bar and change general.useragent.vendor to Firefox

+1 for gmail. Much better and works perfectly with Ubuntu. Plus you get Google Docs, Picasa web and other cool apps.

Hi mrlopes,

What is the version of your firefox? I checked on firefox 3.0.4 and I am able to write message in hotmail.

also, What theme have you selected?

I had the same problem even after changing general.useragent.vendor to Firefox because after each restart of Firefox the User Agent Switcher kept changing it back to Ubuntu (default). So I removed User Agent Switcher & ever since then, with the general.useragent.vendor changed to Firefox I have been using the new Hotmail no problemo. Hope that helps.
