Translation for Maldives (div||dv for Ubuntu)

I would like to register a translation team and start up an effort to translate Ubuntu for Maldives. The ISO-639-1 Code for Maldives (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ISO_639-1_codes) is 'div' / '. Can someone please explain to me what further information I would need to submit to the translation groups' administrators to get the work underway.

I am hoping that this request will be considered, a new translation group registered and members assigned to it so that translation can begin. Presently, I am the only one undertaking this, but I am hoping it will gather some momentum as I make progress.

If I am incorrect about these assumptions, I'd like further clarifications.

Well, I've made some headway. I've begun translating firefox. But I suspect the divehi translation team for ubuntu-i8ln's been dormant for quite a long while now. So it'd be great if someone can offer me some advice on what I can do to bring this to the translator groups' administrators and possibly find a way to join the divehi i8ln team myself.

Hi Aiman. Checking up on your recent progress with translating firefox. It's true that our community is very much dormant but as much as we could, we should try and get some work done on this. Hiya,
So I must admit, its an on-off thing. I've been away from the whole translation effort for some time, at least from the ubuntu-i8ln project. Good news is, in the meantime, i've been working on the mozilla.org's mercurial trunk ( see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=443646 ). I figured that we'd have wider reach if we translate an open source project ubiquitously on all platforms - namely Firefox. The translations, I should say, sound rather silly. I've thought of verbatim translations - didn't work. So most of the translations are at best verbose.

I'll upload my work on the mercurial branches hopefully by the end of November '09. And I'll try to do the same here on launchpad. I am hoping someone else can come up with better translations than I did. Will get in touch asap.

Sounds excellent. Actually Softwath and some other member in the group have
done some translations with GTK+ and Gnome. So hopefully if i'm able to get
a hold of them, they might just come back to the project. It would be
convenient if you could upload the changes of firefox back to launchpad.
That way it would be convenient for the rest of us to follow them on
launchpad.

As some of the translaters may not be gnu users and non-technical, I've
found it convenient to use rosetta at launchpad.
