can't send or receive mail

I have entered all my email account info but when I try to send an email the send/receive button will not highlight so I cannot send or receive mail.

Try to use Thunderbird.

launchpad email address appears, but I can never send an email. Carolyn

Would you please email me at <email address hidden>, because I can never do email through launchpad. I can never send nor receive.
