Prompts for password for default key ring

Asked by mrJimmymathew

Binary package hint: evolution

Am using Ubuntu 9.04 also am new to Linux. When I open evolution mail and click on send and receive I get a pop up window that reads " Unlock Key ring. The application 'evolution' (usr/bin/evolution) want access to the default key ring, but it is locked". Am not able to "deny" it or click on "okay".
Also I would like to know how you would be sending the solution will it be to my email address or would it be through automatic updates?

Thanks and Regards
Jimmy Mathew

Hi, you can try Application>Accessories>Passwords and Encryption Keys
Go to the Password tab. Right click the Password folder, there should be Unlock/Lock.

Good luck.

I have just tried Donato Roque's suggestion. There I deleted the default keyring. When I went into Evolution it asked for a new password to the keyring. I gave it one and everything seems to be working so far.

There are lots of Linux users who don't care how the kernel works, but
only want to use it. That is a tribute to how good Linux is.
