send/recieve mail button dim & non-functional. re-start no good

Binary package hint: evolution

v. 9.04, currently up-to-date, send/receive button greyed out, non-functional. trash empties, all other seem to work, but cannot send or receive. DSL internet connection good.

you probably are in the offline mode in evolution

Sebastien Bacher is likely correct. To get out of Offline Mode you can open evolution and goto File->Work Online (it should be near the bottom of the file menu).

The solution was correct, don't know how it got changed, but power & DSL
both were intermittent the previous day. Easy fix, thanks to all you
guys. I had not thought of that , had not seen that option. Why would
anyone run mail client off-line? Thank you all,

I have same problem - only I am online and SEND & RECEIVE remain in dims

*In my case, settings got changed to "work off-line", when changed to
on-line all was well. suspect in my case may have been to combo of power
fluctuations and/or poor connection, which occurred simultaneously.
Correct at file, dropdown to work off-line, set back to work on-line. *
