you probably are in the offline mode in evolution

Steven Danna (ssd7) said : #3

Sebastien Bacher is likely correct. To get out of Offline Mode you can open evolution and goto File->Work Online (it should be near the bottom of the file menu).

John Petersen (olddogv) said : #4

The solution was correct, don't know how it got changed, but power & DSL
both were intermittent the previous day. Easy fix, thanks to all you
guys. I had not thought of that , had not seen that option. Why would
anyone run mail client off-line? Thank you all,

*In my case, settings got changed to "work off-line", when changed to
on-line all was well. suspect in my case may have been to combo of power
fluctuations and/or poor connection, which occurred simultaneously.
Correct at file, dropdown to work off-line, set back to work on-line. *

This was Resolved once Ubuntu ran and installed updates

Thank You
