error message when retrieving e-mails

Asked by Ju

Hi!

I always receive an error message reading "Fehler bei »Ordner »Inbox« wird gespeichert«. Zusammenfassung und Ordner stimmen nicht überein, sogar nach einer Synchronisierung" when pressing the "send/receive e-mail" button. E-mails are actually received, but every time Evolution checks the server I get this error message and it's quite annoying. For the last couple of days I also receive the SAME e-mails twice or even more often, every time I switch on the system and download the mail from the server. Anybody who can help?

Thanks.

Thanks for your question.

Does this also occur when you empty your trash folder?

Thanks

Or I should say:

Does this also occur if the trashfolder is empty?

Thanks

Yes, there's another error message reading "Fehler bei »Ordner wird
gesäubert«. Fehler beim Speichern von »~/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox
(mbox)«: Zusammenfassung und Ordner stimmen nicht überein, sogar nach
einer Synchronisierung" and the trash folder is not emptied either.

Is this behaviour the same as described in this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/evolution/+bug/27014 ?

Yes, it's the same problem. Is there any way of getting it sorted?

The bug has highest priority, but it seems they have problems to reproduce it. Maybe you want to look at http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=213072 which is the corresponding bug with GNOME which evolution is part. Maybe you can get there in contact with the developers and maybe they can find with your help a way to reproduce it and therefore fix it.

You could mv your .evolution directory that you start with a clean system. However, you would not be able to access your mails anymore, and it is not predictable if the problem reoccurs.

Unfortunately there is nothing else that I can do about it beside this.

Can you help with this problem?
