Can you be more specific? What kind of attachment is it? What is the filename - does it have an extension? What did you try to do to open it, and what happened when you did that?

This is an example of that to which I refer. I don't know how to access
the attachment when they come into my computer.

Your files are attached and ready to send with this message.

Which email program are you using? Evolution?

Did you receive the email from someone with the text "Your files are attached and ready to send with this message." in it? Or are you composing your own email?

Do you see any indication of attachments outside of the email body? For example, a paperclip icon against the email title in the inbox, or a drop-down button at the bottom of the email text?

Thank you for responding:

The message is as follows:
"Your files are attached and ready to send with this message."
Below that is a box with an arrow pointing to the right, then another
box with a "<" but pointing downward, then this sentence follows:
"unknown attachment (911NewWorldOrderfiles - Missing Links.lnk)

When I click on the second box, it opens a "save" window. I just want
to open the attachment so I can see what it is. I do not want to save
it.

A lnk file is most likely a link created in windows.

From http://www.file-extensions.org/lnk-file-extension :

"Windows Shortcut file - link to a program, file or directory.
This type of file creates a link to a program or application, from another location. For example links might make MS Word, or a particular file you are using on it, accessible from your desk top. Although the concept of links to files (or applications) exists on the Mac OS, in practice the .LNK file is particular to Windows which is the operating system that can open it. "

I suspect actual file has not been attached to your email.

Can you help with this problem?
